Hello! My name is Melissa Fairchild. I have worked in the health care field for over 20 years. I started out as a certified nursing assistant and then pursued an LPN, RN, BSN, then NP. I have previously worked as a Board Certified as a Psychiatric RN and as an adjunct professor for the local community college teaching psychiatric care for the RN and LPN programs. I have a diverse and lengthy background in teaching and rural health care.
I have worked within the mental health field throughout my career, with many different ages and mental health concerns. I became passionate about mental health as I noted the disconnect between the medical world and the mental health world. Working in the field and seeing such huge gaps in care made me realize wanted to be a part of fixing the problem and helping people feel heard and understood. It has become my passion to help people become as productive and safe in their lives, making the choices they deem fit for them.
I have lived in Northern Minnesota for the last 20 years where I raised two daughters and enjoyed all kinds of outdoor activities. My favorite season is winter. I love cross country skiing, ice fishing, snowmobiling and winter camping. When not working or studying you will often find me fishing, kayaking, hiking, and just being active.
I am very passionate about educating and empowering others about how to care for their bodies. My professional focus is in mental health. I went into holistic private micropractice 11 years ago and have never looked back - offering mental health services my way, which is through engagement(laughing/crying), hugging and providing a holistic approach to patients using energy healing, nutrition and supplementation.
My first love is mental health and the field of psychiatry. Using a new paradigm of nutrition, building belief and lifestyle changes, we can heal the body and heal the mind!!
I am a mother of two wonderful adult children who both live in Bismarck - married 21 years to a wonderful man who takes really good care of me and listens to me ramble on about all kinds of things!! I am born and raised ND girl who loves to travel. Its a big big world out there and there are so many wonderful people everywhere!!
